Metal Fascia & Gutter Systems
JH Stephenson Fascia Gutter
Slotted or Unslotted Fascia Gutter & Barge Capping
SQUARE Gutter is an appealing, modern profile that suits a multitude of building designs. The continuity of Gutter line profile can be maintained on barges with the SQUARE Barge Capping. The material strength is not affected by the suns rays. The medium gauge metal has rollformed ribs on the front face which offers great resistance to denting and a stylish, buckle free appearance.
ADVANTAGES
COST SAVINGS
SQUARE Gutter and Capping is continuously roll formed from light gauge coil steel and therefore has low initial cost. Labour savings in erection time are also made because of the quick and easy method of attaching to the Fascia. Because of the protective coating there is very little cost involved in maintaining SQUARE Gutter as it lasts years without being touched.
PROTECTION
Zincalume® and Pre-painted Zincalume® coated steel provides the best protection from the environment and gives long life to any building.
LENGTHS
SQUARE Gutter and Barge Capping can be cut in the factory to any length specified by the customer. Using longer lengths eliminates joints and gives a neat appearance. (Max. 8m)
SUPPORT RECOMMENDATIONS
Gutter Bracket spacings should not exceed 1200mm. Where Metal Fascia is used, brackets must be placed within 150mm either side of the Raffer Brackets.
ACCESSORIES
A full range of accessories to compliment SQUARE Gutter is available as shown below.

INSTALLATION
FIXING TO TIMBER FASCIA
Fix Bracket at high end of fall first, then fix bracket at low end of the fall. Stringline a common datum of both Brackets and install Brackets at the required spacings (not exceeding 1200mm) with common datum on the stringline.
The Brackets are best attached to the fascia with 2 - 40 x 3.75mm Helical thread galvanised nails placed diagonally opposite.
FIXING TO RAISED SLOT METAL FASCIA
Insert the thin tag of the Bracket through a raised slot and slide to approximate height. Do this to all Brackets spaced at required spacings (not exceeding 1200mm). Using 1 - 16 x 10-10 Wafer Head Tec Screw or 1-0.4 Blind Rivet, fix the high end of the fall bracket then the low end of the fall bracket and stringline a common datum of both brackets. Adjust other brackets until the common datum is on the stringline, then fix those brackets preferably through the bottom middle hole.
ATTACHING GUTTER TO BRACKETS
Hook the front of the gutter onto the end of the long arm of the brackets and slide the back of the gutter up under the long arm until it is hard up to the back of the bracket. Push the gutter into the upright position lifting the bottom of the gutter onto the platform provided by the bracket. When the gutter is in the correct position turn down both tabs of the gutter brackets onto the back of the gutter to complete the attachment.
END STOPS
Preformed End Stops provide a neat finish to straight runs of gutter. These Stop Ends require less labour and skill than site formed ends. Both methods of end stopping require the use of monel Blind Rivets and a roofing type silicon sealant.
DOWNPIPES
Downpipe, Downpipe Drops and Downpipe Brackets are available from your Steeline Centres. If 100 x 75 mm Downpipe is being used, then mark a 100 x 75mm rectangle longways in the centre of the gutter bottom at the downpipe position. Pierce the centre of the rectangle and cut diagonals from centre to corners, then cut the sides of the rectangle to accommodate downpipe drop. Use monel blind rivets and a roofing type silicon sealant to attach downpipe drops to gutter and downpipe to downpipe drop. Refer to Downpipe leaflet for downpipe notching for bends.
EXTERNAL CORNERS
Cut as shown in illustration. Fold, Blind Rivet and seal.

INTERNAL CORNERS
Cut as shown in illustration. Fold, Blind Rivet and seal.

GUTTER JOINING
To produce a slip joint, notch gutter as shown in the illustration. Insert reduced end into normal end, Blind Rivet and seal.
